Myrrh may help support healthy skin. Myrrh is referenced throughout the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The Arabian people used it for reducing the wrinkled, chapped or cracked appearance of skin. Today myrrh is widely used in oral hygiene products.
It Contains a high content of sesquiterpenes, a class of compounds that have a direct effect on the pituitary, hypothalamus, and amygdala, the seat of our emotions. I find it is purifying, restorative, revitalizing, and uplifting.
We also know that Myrrh is a very special oil, as it was given to the Messiah at His birth, along with Frankincense and Gold. So, Myrrh and Frankincense were considered luxury items used by the wealthy and highly regarded next to gold.
The benefits of Myrrh Essential Oil are plenty.
We also use Myrrh during prayer, placing some Myrrh and Frankincense on each other. Smells lovely too.
